The entire brand identity of MATOR KG is being redesigned within 9 months
As part of this ambitious project, it was clear that all product communication processes for print and online media would be put on a modern and future-proof footing.
Daily updated article master data through configurable rules
The software modules of the xmedia product family used are designed as standard components that were configured for MARTOR's use cases as part of the system implementation.
Connecting the proAlpha merchandise management system via xmedia ERPort required the sales items and production parts lists (knife, blade, packaging and assembly instructions), which are stored separately there, to be read directly from proAlpha, including their validity period.
The article master data is interpreted using configurable rules and written to the PIM system on a daily basis.
In addition to a large number of attributes for mapping product information in a hierarchical product tree, MARTOR also uses hierarchically structured attributes in many cases. This xmedia feature type offers the option of creating attributed links or establishing dependencies between feature values. This was used in particular to map packaging-related EAN numbers or to map semantically related texts.
Another use case is the mapping of current, future or discount group-related prices.
The user creates configurations for the print publications as part of publication planning, which are made available in InDesign via the myview print server. This preparation can take the form of summarised texts or tables, for example. The data is therefore available for use in all print publications. Communication with priint:comet takes place via SOAP, so that distributed utilisation scenarios, for example with agencies, are no problem.
To provide the product data for the website, it is made available to the CMS via a web service in JSON format.
The API of the ProCat online catalogue module offers high-performance provision of product data as well as higher-value functions for search, navigation, product selection, download, etc. The integration of classic CMS pages with dynamic product data can thus be easily carried out by the Netigo agency in charge.
